Im trying to source a replacement regulator, for the alternator one one of my engines.
The regulator is external to the alternator and mounted on the bulkhead. Manufactured by Femsatronic.
The alternator is a 24v CAV unit, on a 6 cylinder Gardner engine of circa 1965.

Running out of places to try.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Colin

Colin,
I may have the info or regulator you require.
Please confirm the alternator type. e.g. is it a CA524 earthed or insulated return?
The regulators usually have three output tapping's Hi, med, and low.
In the mean time I will look at the information relating to the one I bought recently.

Nearly there, luckily I still have the CAV Marine Sale Engineering manual from this period, which includes both the AC5 and AC7 specs.
There were two AC7 types, one had a CAV 367 and the other a 440 regulator.
If you are trying to replace a compatible 440 reg. then you may be interested to know my non OEM 440 reg will be advertised soon.
If it helps the basic difference between the two regulator types:- 367 has a externally mounted winter summer output setting switch and the 440 has the tapping's as described above.
If this doesn't help my suggestions are not exhausted yet.

Ian.

Colin,
Does the other alternator use an original CAV regulator, so you can identify the type?
It was a few years ago when I bought the regulator and both CAV and Car Go ( non OEM ) were readily available from Lucas UK or your local Diesel Electrical outlet.
Bit confused as to why you have bought the wrong one from the information I am trying to provide?
Ian.
