Posted on PBO but thought I might get better results here as the CBF will be more into "restoration"...;)

I am planning to be doing a little "teak" deck replacement work shortly and remember some time ago there was a post or two on alternative caulking to Sikaflex 290 DC but cannot find the threads now. Looks like I will need 10~12 cartridges so it's worth looking at (cheaper) alternatives if available.

Any suggestions / recommendations?

There are several alternative Polyurethane sealants available, Wurth, Soudal & Mirka are all manufacturers of the stuff. Try motor factors or Car paint suppliers as its often used to stick body panels on, Hodgson sealants do good sealants butyl rubber & polyurethane, can be got from Fix Fast. Dauntless yacht centre will give good prices on Sikaflex as well.

For me there is only one material to use these days, and that´s Sealine 100 from Elch. I am working profesionally on boat building, teak decks etc and here in the Med polyurethane such as Sika has inferior UV resistance to Polymeric products or Alcoxic Silicone. It´s also cheaper than sika.
