I'm have real problems with eBay
Please don't misunderstand I'm not touting for business
I use eBay for selling carburetters and parts for classic cars
yesterday they cancelled one of my auctions
so today I started before am to change all my other listings to comply (all 109 of em )
guess what I'd reached about 99 so not much more to go they cancelled one just as I clicked on it to change it !! then another !!!!
Course now they say I cant have power seller status because of violations so there goes the 20% end of sale fees monthly reduction ( weird how they waited for me to earn over the £2,250 then start breaching !!
You cant ring em oh I have that frequent user help line but you cant actually speak to a manager or some one in charge !!! handy aye

So has any one used or know of other sites I'm sick of paying eBay £400 a month and be treated like ## know what I mean
I recall some one on here talking about another site

disgruntled Mick

£400 a month eh?

Not exactly an amateur then?

I'll bet it's you thats breaking the rules, not them /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I feel for you i really do.
I think the same. You'd think someone with more money than sense could see that there's money to be made and start up something similiar. How hard can it be. Money is the biggest issue, then a load of computer nerds to operate it.

Ebay cancelled my account which i had for about 4years as they didn't like me trying to sell a replica rolex. They cancelled the auction and i re submitted it.We did that 3 times before they said sorry, your finished.
I had hundreds of 100% feedback, even emailing them when i spotted a fake fraudulant auction, and they didn't want to know my plight and said it would take a year before they'd consider me again.
I opened another account /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and after a few months and little over 100, 100% feedback, they spotted me and cancelled me again.
So, i wish someone else would start up a site like ebay, only with much less cost to the seller. Their fee's are outragous to say the least and unjustified.

You're lucky.

I would have called the Police and had you arrested for trying to flog pirate goods.

Be happy you got away so lightly..... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Re: alternative to ebay PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

I had a linc to my web site the page is only for terms and conditions re postage and returns, they tell you in one breath you can do thaty as long as there are no linc's from that page to a none ebay site

the others

As for nout to do with boats comment actually it is how do you think I pay for my boat and look towards another one ?

I can understand how mad you must be, but the problem is that it is eBay that everybody looks on to find anything these days.

I think you have to accept eBay, like Income Tax and speding/parking fines, otherwise you can get your blood presure sky high just thinks about the problem.

A little over the top dont we think.
I paid £100 to my friends bro-in-law because it was a superb copy with a genuine box and was trying to sell for £50 because i decided that i didn't want to wear a replica.
I'm hardly a criminal for buying and the trying to sell on at a loss something thats a replica.
Christ, what side of the bed did you get out of ?

I think you'll find that you are.

Please explain the subtle difference between a replica and a counterfeit when applied to a Rolex that wasn't made by Rolex?

It is a criminal offence to offer for public sale goods that are knowingly counterfeit and if you admit they are counterfeit/copies etc, you make the prosecution even easier as an admission of guilt is icing on the cake for them.

Anyone who thinks they are buying a genuine Rolex for £50 deserves everything they get /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm sure Gilly has said in the ad that it is a 'genuine copy' or whatever they call fakes these days.

Although you obviously didn't intend to commit a criminal act. There are many other people doing it for a living. I doubt that Rolex have authorised the manufacture under license of watches by a third party with the Rolex name on them, so I think you'll find that it is absolutely illegal.

I'm afraid you wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they decided to prosecute!

There have been recent prosecutions of people selling fashion accessories with a famous name.

It doesn't matter. It is a criminal (not civil) copyright infringement to offer to sell a counterfeit watch, even if you admit it is a fake. The copyright law is there to protect the copyright owner and not the buyer and there is no law that can prevent anyone from buying a fake for personal use. Try to resell it and you commit the offence.

Thanks for your support Flyingscampi and GarryT.
I bought it because it was a very nice looking watch, not to try and defraud rolex. I cant afford their prices but if i could,i would have.
My ebay advert wasn't hiding the fact that it was fake and i certainly didn't realise the implications.
Funny though,go to ebay and type in Replica and see how many thousands of auctions there are, hmmm.
I'm not a criminal and i despise criminal activity. I'm probably one of the most honest people on this forum and i certainly keep my nose out of any trouble.
