Alshira

Thanks, Lisa.

I have to apologise for the dullness of the blog. Gordon's laptop has all the photos and my iPad does the blog, but they refuse to talk to each other, and Gordon's laptop can only get at the Internet when there is free wi-fi, which is not very common!

The weather here has been pretty awful too. We have spent lots of days sheltering in harbour or going for bike rides, and all the locals keep on telling us how it is unusually cold, wet and windy! However, we have had some good sailing, and have visited some super places. The Baltic is a lovely place to sail. I particularly recommend Bornholm and some of the tiny Danish islands.

We expect to be back in early September - see you all then!

Wish I were there too, instead of messing around in the Channel, though our sailing has been good. My spies in the Baltic mostly give me the same story about the weather and one couple had to decant from Christianso to west Bornholm to escape the easterlies for a few days and ended up rafted up in Hammer-whatsit.

I hope your return trip goes well. If it is slow, just think of it as holiday time.

Thanks, John.
We didn't risk Christianso, because the weather was so iffy. In fact we spent our Bornholm stay in Ronne, and explored by bike - we have good bikes, so we're able to get to the far corners of the island.

We are back in Denmark now, making our way west whenever the winds are not too unfavourable (asking for favourable winds is asking a bit much!)

Despite the weather, it has been super.
