The above mentioned drive packed up last weekend, with a reassuringly expensive bang.
Recommendations please for good repairers and or suppliers of used / recon legs.

If it's a Gen I then recon units are available, Gen II may be a new or rebuild.

Sometimes, just sometimes, loud bangs = less money than small bangs, so get it checked out first, assuming the casing is undamaged.

Don't know if it's any help, but here's a website specialising in Bravo outdrives, maybe they can help with Alpha's?

They're somewhere in USA, so maybe a good excuse for a holiday. "Just popping to the shops Dear to get some bits for the boat, won't be long".

I've seen these for sale in the states at 3000 dollars new and I've heard of people spending 2000 quid on rebuilds - Can't remember the website though sorry.

Thanks,
I have ordered a new drive from Doug Russell and am awaiting delivery.
Turned out my top box was trashed, annoying as it was rebuilt by Keypart last year, hence buying new.
Now have spare lower unit available!!!
