Hello!

I'm flying to Almeria on Saturday 14th June (arriving 1010am) and will be heading to the marina at Almerimar to look at a boat for sale.

Anyone else heading that way on Saturday? Want to share a cab?

I'm flying back on the 2105 flight on Saturday too if anyone wants to share a cab back to the airport :)

A Maiora 20 :)
Nice machine. Those FIPA machines are pretty solid. Check it wasn't an unlucky one cruising Corsica 2013 that has been been moved to Spain to escape its history. A clue would be seaweed traces on the headlinings :). I suspect they might have built something like 50 of these, so it's unlikely to be the sinker
Have a nice trip and post some pics and a link to the boat?

Thanks for the tip! I'll be sure to check for seaweed stains :)

I've not been on a FIPA before so want to compare it's internal space to the San Lorenzo / Canados yachts I've seen. It's a lovely looking boat and doesn't look 20 years old. Will be sure to post pics and report back on Sunday. In the meantime, here's the link ...

That's a lot of boat for the money and looks in very good condition. 300 engine hours seems weird. I hope you have a good day

Hey JFM / Bart,

Here's a video of the boat.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJtPpZBUUkI

It was well worth seeing. The FIPA yachts do seem very solid. The quality is similar to San Lorenzo / Canados.

It was having the engine gaskets serviced when I visited - so the engine room was a bit untidy. The engine rooms aren't full height like they are in Canados / San Lorenzo but there's still plenty of space.

JFM - I found out that the actual hours on the engines are 2200 hours approx. The current owner has put 300 hours on since buying the boat. So, at least 2200 hours seems a bit more normal for a boat of this age.

You'll see from the (rather long!) video that there are a few areas of water ingress. I don't think any of the ingresses are too bad but it's the first boat of this age in the Med that I've seen with so many water marks internally.

Bart - Yes, I'm STILL searching ;) One day ... one day I'll buy one of these lovely boats! And the plan is still to bring it back to London. I would need to get all those water ingresses fixed before I introduce it to the British climate :)

I think this one boat may be a bit above my budget as there isn't much scope for making an offer. I'm going to look at a San Lorenzo in France soon too but the Fipa is certainly a beautiful boat. It's definitely on my favourites list!

I'll report back with any updates.
