I seem to remember that its mandatory to have a copy of a particular almanac to cruise in France, can someone remind me what it is, and advise where I can get one. From memory its only written in French, so i'll need an English worded pilot guide as well, any reccomendations as to which is best?

It's a Livre De Bord in France, and other titles in Sp and Italy. I'd recommend the one published by Bloc Marine. Covers the whole Med. Avaialbe in any French chandler for 21euros IIRC, and you need a new one every year to be squeaky clean on the regs (and MCA coding). A4, softback, about as thick as a telephone directory

I have last year's one sitting here so if anyone wants it to browse the med just post or PM me an address and I'll post it to you

I use Bloc Marine Atlantique for the bay of St Malo and Bay of the Seine and it is very good, they also do a Mediteranee version as well see blocmarine.com
