We will soon get our Allures 44 (now 7 weeks behind schedule!) and would be glad to exchange experiences about these sailing boats with other owners - to know what to expect. The french shipyard is hesitant to give information about problems other owners had and has not given us references we could contact. We would be very glad about contacts and information!

That Delta wasnt dug in properly - no wonder they've gone aground /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Suggest you dont make the same post in two forums, it really confuses things.

Stick around though... I'm guessing you will have lots of queries about electrolysis and galvanic corrosion.

Cheers and Good Luck

Now Richard - that's below the belt.

Besides the Delta is perfectly well dug in, and unlike a cranky old Moody she's not on her side, but sitting plumply on her rounded bottom waiting for the tide to return.

I know several people who have had Alubat products and all uniformly praise them. And didn't Jimmy Cornell choose an Ovni 435 for high latitude sailing.

And the shape is far more pleasing than an hard-chine hull

For Frifrio
Suggest you look up as much as you can about protecting aluminium hulls.

The probable reason they can't give you any other owners is that there probably aren't many. I'd suspect that they're not part of Alubat, but somewhere on the Cotentin.

What a pleasure, so frequently denied one, to be a pioneer.

I know they are tough as one hit me in the marina in Ile de Yeu. Actually he hit about 3 boats before he hit mine. I think he must have had the keel up and therefore not great steerage, but it was blowing nearly 30 knots.

There was a YM review a year or so ago, where a 44 seemed to be praised.

YM did a test a few years ago (July 2007)

Very well thought out boats the two way chart table is great, you can see a gallery of images in YM's Allure 44 Gallery the steering was very very sweet, so light on the helm she was great, performance wasn't as sparkling as we had hoped, mainly due to the marine farm on her bum!
