I have had two Allen stanchion blocks fail within the last fortnight .......just a year after purchase. I believe they were being used well within their specified maximum loading and they were doing a job that previous stanchion blocks have done without a problem for 20 years.
Having looked at the part that failed it appears to me to be badly engineered and I would steer clear of these blocks at present. I am returning both blocks and maybe the manufacturer will improve the design. Time will tell.
