Hold fire on the table reservation... how long will it take me to blast up there in my Freeman 22??? :-]

Big problem might be finding somewhere to moor, the narrow boats are taking over, def seems the route being taken by those looking for a way to avoid contributing financially towards keeping the country going

Last couple of weekends we managed to get a mooring on the wall easily enough very little out on the river till last weekend ,We are in a narrowboat [only weekends sadly have to keep country going rest of the week] but maybe mooring would be easier if peeps observed the 24hr mooring rule cough

We like Goring ...........

B1 and Maggie provided a warm welcome as usual and it was very nice to see Peter and Jeanette again and tales about crossing the Bay of Biscay in their new yot.
Sneaking suspicion they were actually aiming for Chatham, completely missed it and just kept going until they spotted a MDL marina sign post.
There was a bit of a dispute aboard the CLB regards OGs previous misadventures and so............

Pretty certain we went through lock and moored up on left ? under some very tall lime trees.
Fruit of which kept thudding onto the roof of the cabin all night.

Ok, fess up. Who spilt the beans. Actually I knew it wasn't Chatham. I didn't remember the Medway being that wide.

Yes, good to see you all.

Happy cruising.

Peter

B1 cannot have spotted my post yet as no grovelling apology regards his doubting that we managed to get up to Goring without his piloting skills.

I can verify that you made it to Goring about 5 years ago, with Release, we met in the Bull at Sonning the next evening.

Was beginning to doubt we had been there .
Just been onto Google Earth (very busy day honest ) and about 1/2 mile above lock there are the trees where we moored.

Attempting to get to Byrons but time ran out.As we went back through Reading we were dodging tents floating in the water.

You were only 30 minutes away. Never mind, Brayman didn't bother coming to the Oxford Ditch do either.

" with Release, we met in the Bull at Sonning"

One of the few occasions the crew of that particular vessel have not started some sort of riverbank fight I believe ? :):):)
