Thanks Mercman,
I'm quite happy to continue discussing this on the open forum at this time, as i think other have found it interesting.

The tell tale is the graphics will say Mercury on the transom instead of the `M` logo.

Does that mean the one in the pic above is of the new Type??

I am quite confused, I take to heart your first post on this subject regarding the Mercruiser being more Tech, advanced, and for that reason, i am still concidering it, The only down side is the worry about corrosion.

What is the exact model of the new drive unit, so as i can check with the dealer, and why do Bravo 1's, and Alfa 1's not have any problems?

Cheers

Alistair.

This is the old style graphic i will get some pics for you monday when im back at the shop.
You basically want to see the latest Bravo 3 its serial number will be 0W260000 or above.
The problem with the 3 is mainly done to an inferior coating on the bearing carrier which is on the prop shaft. And swinging two huge stainless props.
Dont be worried about corrosion by the time you ordered your new boat it will have the latest B3 with latest corrosion proofed items.
I would still ask for a secondary mercathode.
