I've got a 3 Bar pump, but the spray is still disappointing.

On the boat? ... I bet the 3 Bar is the static pressure it can build up. What pressure does it maintain when you are actually using it? Volume is what I want for a decent shower .... but of course that is is unrealistic on most boats. (at home with a 'header-tank' system, no pump, I have never found a multi-function shower head which works).

What you need is a big rose to allow plenty of flow so if the Aldi one is then it should suit, smaller ones normally used on boats (for water conservation) are a bit small to allow a decent flow. I fit standard domestic large ones to live aboard owners, coincidentally the Whale watermaster is also my weapon of choice, the flow rate is not bad at about 3 gallons per minute assuming a good power supply and properly sized cabling.

It's not so much flow that I want, it's the pressure. So perhaps a small rose.

I chose a shower head with the finest spray I could find and the lowest quoted flow rate. I was concerned about the volume of water flowing because my calorifier is not big. I have found that it works well because I can get nice and wet without using too much water. It is never going to be like a power shower at home but it is more about getting clean than enjoying the experience. The one I bought was tube like, unfortunately I am thousands of miles from the boat so cant send a picture right now. got it from e-bay and was nice and cheap. I suspect it is designed for caravans where they may have similar concerns about water flow rate.

I've been trying to get a decent multifunction shower head for some time; and I've tried several. I've got a 3 Bar pump, but the spray is still disappointing.
Has anyone found one that works well on a boat?
For boats, I prefer to use metal head showers, plastic is too weak compared to metal.
You can find many stores that are specialized in metal head shower like Hammerhead.

This is an old thread. Nigel unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago. Whatever shower head you use, be sure to unscrew it over winter or it will freeze up and crack.

That has never occurred to me, and my shower head remains in good order after twenty years. My boat came without a mixer tap, so we replaced the shower head with one that had an on/off 'switch' on it, allowing the user to keep the same hot/cold mix between sloshes. Ours is perfectly adequate and I have a feeling that our stores of water would prove inadequate if it worked like the best domestic showers.
