Aldi motor bike gear. My only non boaty in 3 years

If you want real luxury in jaclets... Take a look at Halvorssons.... If you have a spare grand hanging around....

I rode to the Ace and on to Sarfend on Monday wearing my (10 year old) HG Voyager gear supplemented by my Chilli heated jacket, and Frank Thomas Aqua gloves. Despite snow and 3-4C temps I was both comfortable and warm. I am unfortunate enough to have a bonce which will only fit a Shoei XXL, and nothing else (believe me I have tried) and fuly agree that HG now supply tat.

I can,t really add to the above comments on clothing, but I will say that for winter riding, Oxford heated grips were the best fifty quid I have ever spent.

Yes you are correct of course..bouncing on yr arse down the road is the wrong time to regret saving money on gear..

That's true, but its a big hit to buy all top-end gear in one go - for for instance, a back-protector (which I now regard as essential kit - don't ask!) might get left off the list - whereas a no-brainer lidl £15 quid job, although no doubt as not good as the latest and greatest, is certainly better than nought...

Its interesting tho...i spent a lot of time trawling the net trying to find any real comparative tests on helmets ( I was particularly intested in noise levels) .....virtually nothing available out there.

I did this so that I could hear an i pod better and found Schumberth the most quiet (they actually publish comparison figures) They also have a internal sun visor.

I bought it for the quietness but actually found it gave a wider sight angle and the visors seem to be optically better. Not cheap though.

I did have a bit of trouble buying it when I found that they were also made and endorsed by the F1 driver Schumacher but you can't have everything!!
