Good news. Chuck Rose and his Vega (LeaLea) along with crew Laura and Bree (Cat) were spotted by the US Coastguard. They hit a nasty storm on their way from Hawai to US West Coast (2500 miles). Quite a bit overdue and everyone started to get worried. Looks like they have lost their rigging but are motoring slowly to Port Angeles and were reported to be 40 miles off the coast.

This is the first anyone has heard since 1st June so people were startying to get worried, me included!

FUll story to follow when we hear from "the horse's mouth"

That,s really good news, it was beginning to be very concerning. I think many of us following the story this side of the pond had begun to fear the worst! The only consoling factor being the Epirb hadn't been activated.

Steve, I spotted a Vega in Lefkada about two weeks ago, no visible name, simply had Larsen Vega 27 stuck on it. It had hank on sails, original mast, the hull looked like new, maybe cut or repaint, but looked very clean. I think it was owned localy.
I could be tempted again if it was much cheapness /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
