I was given a lovely picture for Xmas of my great grandfather Albert Mathias. Albert apparently had great success in the 1930's racing a gaff rigged cutter called (nowadays not politically correct) "[--word removed--]" (I presume that is the correct spelling). He campaigned his boat in West Wales in the Milford Haven. I believe he lived in a house called Beach House on the slipway at The Pill in Milford Haven where he made a living repairing boats following an industrial accident when half of his head was crushed by a machine. Does anyone recall either Albert or his boat? And this is a long shot, does anyone know the whereabouts of the boat if it still exists. i would imagine it would have been re-naumed over the years. Thanks in advance.

Hmm. If it was the name of the boat in the 1930s, even if it is not politically correct now, it was then; I can't believe the word could be so offensive as to be removed from this forum.

This is the same nonsense as Guy Gibson's dog [--word removed--] being renamed in the remake of the Dambusters.

The dog's name was [--word removed--].

So what was your Grandfather's boat called?

Can you try rewriting the boat name, for example inserting an A between every letter (bit like Canada) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
