For those that may be interested, we've just got back from a short, 2 day visit to Albania. Dead easy from Corfu, just nip over to Saranda. You'll need an agent for the paperwork (Agim and his contact details, are in the pilot). It cost us (14M) €60 for the clearance and first night + €20 for the 2nd night in the main harbour.
It's well worth it just for the fish restaurants. We had one of the best steaks in years as well. Interesting countryside and friendly people.
don't hesitate - go before everybody else does.

We sailed into Volve and down to Orikum and had a great time. We left the boat in Orikum and traveled inland and what a great country. Really loved it. Yes you do have to use an agent and it will be about 60-70 euro but well worth is as they do it all. But you do have to check in and out of each port. We sailed up the coast and overnighted on an anchorage north of Durres and then into Schengjin for a few days. They have dredged the entire area and have deep water all the way in, new breakwalls and a new dock. I think we were one of the first boats on it. They are in the process of redoing Schengjin and will move small boats to another dock as the one we were on was for big boats.

but as above go before the rest of the world discovers it and yes a lot of folks speak english there. We liked it so much we plan to go back next year for a while.

Chuckr someone posted here earlier this year bad reports of Schengjin earlier this year.Take it you had no problems?
Where did you tie up?
I will probably pop down there from Montenegro in the spring.
Any more info welcome...name and contact of agent etc.
Thanks

Not sure what was said, if you could direct me that would be helpful. We found the electronic charts totally wrong but 777 has it correct. Deep water all the way in as is the harbor itself and they have extended both break waters for better protection.

they tied us to a brand new dock that was just opened a few weeks earlier but is actually made for big boats not cruising sailboats. they will we looking at were to crusing boats as the dock is not really suited for sailboats.

there appears to be only one agent and he is very efficient but i can not find his card right now. He met the boat as we came in and helped us get tied up and then we went to the local coffee house and had coffee and he called the police and port captain and they all came down and we did the paperwork there. did the same on the check out. The port captain is really a great guy and knows boats and crusing well.

We will also be going back next year prior to our visit to greece so may see you there .
