In the early hours of sat morning, i was rudely awaken by some noise on the deck of my boat. Not to worry me thinks, must be a cat. But then the noise gets louder as it works its way towards the stern of the boat.

So, quiet as a mouse, I get up, get shoes and clothes on, and quietly open the door. I then jumped out of the door, to find some little barsteward on the back of my boat!

I must have really scared the life out of him, seen as though he proceeded to jump over the starboard side of the boat. Problem was, the tide was out, and medways finest mud caught him upto the knees. He then came closer to the boat where by he was told 'dont you try getting on my boat! you'll get it dirty!' /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

He had two more accomplices, who dragging him out, and where then escorted out of the yard by me. The police were called, and my partner gave them a description of 'three lads about 20. Very muddy so you wont miss them.'

They were stopped by a patrol car, and were found to be walking from anearby nightclub along the river to try to get home to maidstone. Trouble was they went the wrong way down the river! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So what where they after? My bike! They abviously thought that this would make an easy way home.

So moral of the story - do not trust other people in the boatyard or marina. They are too lazy to close the gate behind them! If it was shut, I would have had my full nights sleep!

Anyone got any ideas on how to promote closure of the gate within a boatyard / marina / mooring? Short of evicting offending lazy so and so's, or slicing off their hands so they can open it either?

Lol they must have been wearing a bloody windchime!

Good job you have your fearless warrior ready to pounce. Next time, they might leave Amadeus and go the correct way to Maidstone, via Cuxton Executive Marina!

Obviously, the Castle View Premier Class Mud Marina was very enticing for them.

Sounds like the site of you in your spandex and moleskin thong was enough to deter them (and give them nightmares) for years to come!
Probably try and sue you for trauma. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think being covered in medway's finest soft mud and what their mother would say when they got home might mean they will never leave it down.

We've also got the CCTV tapes, so that might get a quick few quid for christmas if we send it off to beadle!
