On my Targa I have just experienced an alarm (siren like sound) that went off momentarily when I switch on starboard ignition. It was not an EDC alarm nor was it bilge pump. Any ideas, I cant find any reference in handbook. It lasted less than a second. Sounded as if it were an alarm for something being wrong but then decided it was alright really.

I had the same with my temp alarm going off when putting ignition key on. A quick squirt of T9 and it went away.

Probably oil pressure alarm as long as it goes off I would not be too concerned.
Talking of these alarms especially the temp one they tend to go off after the horse has bolted so beware.

alarms i can think of

1) there might be an alarm on the engines, with ignition on but engine not turning over .But there wasn't on mine

2) There might be an alarm on the holding tank, and some of these were labelled the wrong way round.

3) Bilge alarm remains favourite. You shd be able to find and trigger all of these by lifting the float switch.

4) But it's a siren. Hm. Siren is a safety thing, so either fire (engine room temp?) or praps radio dsc thingy with no gps position? Mine had neither of these.

I think the temp alarm is favorite, its not bilge as I have checked all and its the wrong sound anyway. Its not EDC related as it is definately a siren. It just occasionally when starboard engine is put to position before starting engine. It has gone almost before it starts, thing is I need to know what it is so I will phone Peters and ask.

My T48 has exhaust overheat sensors which are, according to Fairline, prone to false alarms so they reccomend disconnecting them. Doh!
