Hi all,
I am the owner of Carolas, built in 1958 to the design of Alan Buchanan Sea Spray Class. She is now in Almería-Spain (where I live), very badly damaged, keel torn off and stolen, broken rudder and many other unpleasant symptoms of agony. My idea is to restore it but I would need the plans of this class to make my life easier. Is there anybody out there with nice suggestions on how and where could I get these plans?
Best regards

Alan Buchanan is alive and well and living in Jersey. Address is at home (i'm at work - but keep it quiet). Try directory assistance to get his phone number and go from there.
A while ago I wanted the plans for my 1962 Buchanan East Anglian Sloop. For a nominal sum he made complete copies of full size plans along with a little history he had of the actual boat. Worth finding him. If I remember (getting old) I will get you his address.

I wasent happy with my east anglian. The raised coach roof and cabin continued forward of the mast, i had the mk2, rusting iron in front of the loo!! Sliding doors!!

The MK 1 at least looked good, rotted less and leaked far less.a 1958 one would be a MK1 ! I dont remember many having lead keels? Casting a new one could be interesting! I had a new rudder made for mine even that wasent inexpensive!

A lot of waisted space . The Vertue and Folkboat are far better conceived and sail comfortably and a little faster!

I wish you luck in the renovation but personaly id strip it sell what you can and buy a Folkboat they sail really well and for the med are far more comfortable
