That's a really nice pic that you have in the PBO thread. Now, I think you've told us before, but it looks like the luxury Hebridean Princess, formerly the MacBrayne's car ferry Columba, in the background. But where is it? Sound of Ionaish or Sunartish?

Here she is on an early, possibly her first, voyage as HB - I'm certain they took away the car deck entries at the side fairly early on;

Hi, Sgeir. No, it's Loch Torridon. Shieldaig Island is just of pic to the right. We were anchored just round the point from the Sea Trout research station in Loch Shieldaig. The usual anchorage is on the other side of the island but we rented a cottage several successive Summers which looked down on where Scruffy is anchored. Very sheltered.

I just love the place and it is a perfect location for a small boat like mine.

Aah, ... Haven't been there for years, and then on foot - Liathach etc. Should have sailed there this year, but we wimped out with the crappy weather.

Thanks for reminding us why we do it.

Yes, the weather last summer was dreadful. I had been hoping for a 2-3 day window in it all to make the trip down to Plockton and Loch Carron but it didn't happen.

The walking is spectacular all round the area. Stunning scenery.

Not having seen the car deck access when HP was in service as a ferry I don't know this for sure but when she was anchored they opened a port side access from which they embarked/disembarked to and from the ships launch. This looked, from memory, big enough to be a car deck access. Did not notice an equivalent starboard one.
