the position is dated 20 May of this year. If you weren't there at that time, and your MMSI: 235102*** and call sign are correct, then there is an excellent mystery waiting to be solved.

I see you were doing 8.7 knots at the time, with an average speed of 6.3. That's sounds a bit like a bigger boat for a start..

Did you lend the boat to anyone ?

No one sails her but me...

with a good tide she's hit that coming along the Thames, but unless I've been sleep sailing I haven't crossed the channel to my knowledge yet..

Shall double check my MMSI number tonight :ambivalence:

Besides the issue that people are (sometimes) allowed to enter their MMSI number themselves. AIS is broken at the protocol level and provides no authentication mechanisms nor any integrity checking - So basically easy to simulate any other ship or AtoN and locate it whereever you want.

oh fun ! I wannabe a nuclear submarine when I grow up.

How do I start swapping my AIS code from a 24ft wooden yacht to being HMS Astute ?

Must be 4 or 5 years ago but there were a load of duplicate MMSI numbers issued - I know as I was given a number which I subsequently found out had also been issued to someone else. Seemed like a total balls up to me so wouldn't surprise me if something like this has happened here. Just a guess though
