AIS to Charterplotter

I have an NASA AIS engine and want to contact it into my Interphase V chartplotter, via the input port which can accept NMEA data. Does anyone have information about how to wire it up; in fact, is there anyone who has experience with this combinatiion of devices or similar? Thanks (My supplier of the equipement has gone out of business, so no support from them).

Does the Interphase take AIS data? I would guess not as they are not the most modern equipment.
