I discovered that on http://www.shipais.com if you focus on a particular ship, the details panel will give you their MMSI number (and callsign).
While not many people will be running live internet while sailing, it could be handy to know particular MMSI numbers for individual vessels (read ferries).
Since not all really have radio officers listening anymore on 16 -a direct DSC call could waken them up individually...if they are doing things you're not happy with. If you know your regular culprits, just program them into your DSC radio in advance -and give them an individual call.
