AIS from vhf radio

Having trouble downloading aismon from yahoo, when i click on files and try to download from the available aismon 2.2.0 after a few seconds of download it aborts. Also they seem to be well out of date. Any ideas ?

What do you mean by "downloading aismon from yahoo" ? Can you give us the link you are using?

Downloaded now but having problems with vb - virtual audio cable, when i open it only half of screen shows with previous window showing underneath if that makes sense. Also i get a warning that it may destabilize my system. Losing my patience with this now.

I assume you are trying to extract AIS data from something like the audio output of a land based VHF radio.

One thing to note.. If you are wishing to forward data to Marinetraffic... be very sure your data is decoded, translated and forwarded 100% correctly.

If not then sites like Marinetraffic will have boats appearing in all the wrong places...

Now working, my netbook is now a AIS plotter working off my old seavoice 550 vhf. Will not be forwarding data to Marine traffic so no worries there. Cheers.
