I am always up for a good boat app.
I have just come across this app for I phones/ I pad/android, and just wondered if anyone has tried it.

If it works then there are quiet a few uses for it and particularly for cruisers to let others know where they are or seeing where a boat is.
The obvious drawback is the internet connection and distance from shore but at least others can see you have arrived safely.
It seems to do a lot more but I have not tried it and wondered if any one had.

We have Shipfinder installed - this lets us see what ships are in the area - along with broadcasted destination - it's "interesting" ... but no more than that.

There are other ways to let family/friends know you've arrived safely - not least via txt msg - and if you have a data connection then most smartphones have a "trackme" app available ...

It is interesting what you can do with AIS data over the internet - but my concern is that some ppl will take this and use it "in anger" - and may well assume others on the water can see them via the their own AIS stream.
