I have a NASA Marine AIS3 model. Power on, green light flashes, indicating signal coming in from ships- but I cannot connect it to my laptop, although I did 3 months ago.
I can't remember the sequence/settings used. I am working with Sea Clear. Can anyone confirm at least the baud rate then that would be one variable out of the question ?

Are you using a real serial port on the PC? (usually Com1) .... or are you using a serial-to-USB converter?

If the latter, the Com port assignment has probably changed. You need to go into windows Device Manager and find out which com port is currently assigned to the serial-usb device. Then change one of the SeaClear input ports to correspond.

Each time you plug a USB device in to another port, it will pick up a different set of resources, including COM ports. Put a marker on the serial-USB converter so you always plug it in the same USB socket.
