Is it cheaper to buy tobacco at the shop at Santiago de Compostela airport or in a Tobacconist in say Moana ? Ryanair are very crafty in respect of tobacco bought outside toe airport has to go in the luggage, but buy it in the airport shop and it is carried onboard as extra hand luggage. I tried to edit the duty free bit out of the title but it wouldn't let me
Thanks in anticipation.

If you are travelling within the EEC you can't buy duty free in an airport (air side shop). So better to buy locally.
Good brands such as Silk cut are about euros 30/35 a carton duty free in Montenegro but you can buy cartons (200 ciggis) for maybe 50 cents a packet..10 euros a carton, with dubious names.I picked some up in Belgrade the other day(air side) to give to my employees so hopefully they will die before I have to pay them redundantcey!!!
I don't smoke,
Whisky or Whiskey, never killed anyone..just preserved them

Strange place Spain as regards tobacco sales, you can only buy tobacco in places with a government licence, these are tobacconists - fair enough - and Post Offices., as the opening hours for POs are a)confusing and b) limited it can limit your options in small towns.

It may have changed, but that was the case not many years ago.

Don't understand what you mean by Ryanair making you put tobacco in luggage. That's just not true, you just need to get it to fit in your carry on bag
In Spain tobacco prices are regulated and you should always buy at a Tabac. - see here - http://www.spanish-tobacco-prices.com/
Be careful at tourist areas as my son who smokes is convinced he has been sold Chinese copies of UK brands.
In less touristy places he never has a problem.
