Can I calculate my air draught from IOR handicap numbers or am I being stupid?

P is the mainsail luff.
You would need to add on heght of gooseneck/boom above water, plus everything above black band at mast head.
Then add a margin for error!

I always use a tape measure.
Then I add a bit for good measure.
Then I watch in disbelief as I go under.
And whatever happens I cant resist the temptation to duck!!
