Looking for an air deck dinghy up to 2.3m that we can roll/fold up to carry on board out 24 foot sailing boat. Less than 30kg and a budget up to say £500 and in stock for delivery by next Friday.

To carry 1-2 adults and two small lap dogs.
Whilst we might row it most times, being able to use our 3.5 outboard could be handy and I don’t like handling outboards between boat and slat floored tenders.

Have discounted inflatable kayaks.

Our current tender, a 3D Tender UL250 is nice and light but having an aluminium hull doesn’t collapse enough to get it on deck. We don’t mind towing it for short trips but are planning something a little further so need something to take with us.

So far on my list of possibles are..

Seago 230RT
Seago 230 go lite
Talamex aqualine 230
Something from the Excel Boats stable

We have the Seago 270 air deck. Great quality and outer last one lasted us 10years and still sold it for £200 to get a new one (long story).

I don't like roundtail dinghies, so I'd exclude that. The Seago Go-lite is rather flimsy, but you might be used to that as you have a 3D now. I'd go for something a bit heavier and hopefully more durable. The Talamex Aqualine 230 at £430 looks OK. The Aqualine 250 at £495 might be better as it has much bigger tubes.

Out of those the 230RT is probably the best. Modern version of the Avon but with an airdeck. Personally I prefer roundtails unless you regularly want to do longer distances under motor. More volume, pack away easily and row just as well as transom dinghies once you get the knack. With a 24' boat, a tender is always a problem because of space, and while a lightweight dinghy like a 3D (which I have) or O Lite is OK for occasional use, the tubes are smaller, they are more skittish and are unlikely to last as long.

You may wish to consider the heavier duty Intex items - the Marine 3 is quite a robust piece of kit - may be worth a look
