Air con outlet under the hull

Two questions really
I'm getting complaints from my non a/c neighbours about the water outlet noise from my a/c during the night in Spain. I'd like to outlet under the waterline. Any problems in doing that?
I have a glass top filter so I can see if it's all working visually.

Also I remember a debate and conclusion some time ago on thro hull fittings and there was a particular material or marking to look for on the fitting. What was it?

You need to avoid plain brass fittings. Instead, choose bronze (also known as gunmetal) or DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass. Some DZR fittings are marked with a "CR" logo, but not all. Skin fittings generally aren't marked, so the only way to know you have DZR rather than plain brass is to order them as such from a reputable supplier. Avoid open bins in chandleries as items tend to get chucked into the wrong boxes by customers or uninformed staff.

I was getting similar complaints and so I moved my aircon rw outlet to below the waterline last year. Whilst I recognise that my aircon isn't currently working, I am absolutely certain that this has got nothing at all to do with the rw outlet position.

It was a straightforward change and next time around I will specify the installation this way in the first place.

Hmm, installing a new below-the-waterline skin fitting without a lift-out is always going to be a challenge... Make sure you video it for us if you decide to have a go!

Tip it by redistributing and adding weight to one side .
Drill your hole 20 mm /25 mm just above the listed WL .
When you are done and Rebalanced it should sit just at or under WL .
Don,t forget a sea cock .

+1 to above generally. I have outlet below w/line and is much kinder to neighbours. It's really annoying when your neighbour doesn't.
And I do not trust French and Spanish chandlers on this. They sell a lot of brass and some sell only brass. You've done the right thing by shopping at ASAP (or aquafax). I must say that for the few £ extra I buy bronze rather than dzr but no big deal there

Ours sits about 75mm above the waterline so we had a ss cowl made with an opening at the bottom. This sits over the outlet & lets the flow out at or just below the waterline depending on fuel load.

Dont know the hight of yours but if not too high this could avoid a liftout.

If you can reach the outlet from the pontoon stick a bit of hose in it at night with the end in the water ... be a bit cheaper!

I guess ours is about 12" above the waterline. I'm thinking "Lets kill this problem once and for all"
I'm hoping for just one lift at £100 but they are not too keen in my parts so could be £200 in and back hmmmm!

We are med style end on mooring all rammed together so not possible

What would happen if you dangled some rope or a fender over the offending outlet as a stop gap?

Yes we have tried to dangle a large ball feder over the outlet and it greatly improves the situation but still not enough to keep neighbours happy who are sweating it out while we are on the cool
