Aha - bigfitz has been pulled again

His last post was pulled and he's been banned.

I think he crossed the line with his latest actions.

Yes he was pulled from CPB in Ireland last night too. I suspect when he took exception to some plain irish speaking (below), and ignored requests from the moderator to desist.

"BUT why bother with all the hassle of importing from far away places like USA, when the UK and EU markets are nearby, in Euro, close enough to visually inspect, meet with surveyor in person, meet the buyer and check them out.

Buying blind like the chap who told his sad story on all the forums last week should act as a warning. Weither he is right or wrong, not seeing the boat with his own eyes before hand, and not getting a survey is plain thick, stupid and madness. Sadly saving pennies but loosing pounds is often the result of that kind of cheapskate thinking. That does not excuse any possible or alleged underhanded dealing by unscrupulous dealers.

On the matter of surveys, how often have I heard, "Oh but that boat is pristine, or nearly new, a survey would just be a waste of your money sir", or better still, "oh yes, sir I know a very good local surveyor which will save you on travel expenses", when in fact the surveyor may be his golf buddy, or silent partner! As they say on Apolloduck.

Caveat Emptor. Verify before you buy

My main issue with US boats is the problems on parts for some popular US brand that are uncommon in europe, 110v, and especially CE, and the fact it will have a useless resale value anywhere in EU. When you buy a boat, think of how saleable it will be when you off load down the road. "

Issues like this are for the courts to decide, not here. Here may be a place to state the final outcome of legal proceedings

Well said Mr Froggie. With that sort of money involved,if it is not standing in front of me then none of my folding departs from under my mattress.
Brother used to import bikes from Fla. and all was OK when he went out to view stuff each time ,but when accepted suppliers description of goods over phone while remaining in UK,problems occured,Nothing deliberate you understand, just that two people looking at same item, can see very different things.Main problem was stuff was very scruffy/faded/split plastic seats from standing in 100F sun and lack of care and general maintaince.
Bikes or boats, not a lot of difference it would appear.

You didn't miss much, He just put a post up with a title something like 'THEY ARE BAD!' all in block caps, and then proceeded to list a couple of links to different google search pages with the companies on them.

That was all but it was bringing up a subject he had been asked not too speak publically about. and it was a bit in bad taste, so it was obviously gonna get canned, so i pressed theNotify Moderator button to let Keith decide.
there was only 2 replies i think, mainly saying this thread isn't going to last one.
