Ah well the Winners and Losers Beers

Just called into a local Yacht Club to do some tasks, sat down to catch up on issues with my Hot Chocolate, blow me down, there were some Racing Types discussing the weekends racing results, with a blow by blow account of tactics that won and them that did not.
Think that we should label the Beers and other drinks as -

Winners sweet

Losers Bitter

Cripes men, get a grip, it was just a race between dinghy s

I like to nurse a best result of the season bitter, unless I'm Pimm's-ed off about my result. Some people go for a lager and lime honours, others prefer a win & tonic.

Out on the course we stick to run and coke (ideally from the Windward Islands), avoiding dirty wind martinis. Anyway, call me old fashioned but if I run aground on the bramble bank I tend to sit and wait for a sea breeze.

Today I'm staying indoors with a hurricane, maybe a dark 'n' stormy later, actually sod that I'll have a Adnam's regatta.

Cheesy chips are always good after a race, couldn't think of a pun for those though. And moaning about who stuffed whom in the changing rooms/bar afterwards is most of the point of dinghy racing, you didn't think it was actually fun did you? The true best bit of racing is complaining about how the course favoured every other boat that sailed.

Yes I have heard most of the gripes and complaints plus grouses after a race, even a week later on yes the Race Officer does not understand the Handicap system at all, does he ? Ah well, goes back to my comment about the winners and losers beers that's the sweet and bitter options so winners here loosers there ?
