I have seen a mass of information on the Forum regarding batteries and it seems I must go AGM for my 24 volt system. The choice is four Optima BTDCM 5.5 75 amp hour or four Hankook SA58020 80 amp hour batteries which will give sufficient capacity. The Hankook are a little over half the price of the Optimas. On the negative side the supply cable lengths for the two pairs of batteries are 1,7 metres and 2.2 metres respectively. I understand the cable length is important but very difficult to change without a join. However, the diameter of the core is 10mm, so I wonder if the different length matters, with a charging rate not normally exceeding 70 amps total.
Any experiences with these batteries and comments would be most appreciated.
