just a quick query
I have 2 outboard motors, a Seagull model 55 (2 stroke of course, and ancient) and a Honda 2 hp(4 stroke of course) from about year 2000. Both haven't been used in ages but I recently tried firing them up, both still work. Obviously before I use them in anger an oil change is needed. I also have bottles containing appropriate 2T and 4T oil which must be 15 years old at least. Is this oil likely to be any good, or do I need to fork out for some new oil?

Look at them critically first if you decide use them. I had some 2 stroke oil go all " gloopy" once. It would not mix with the petrol. It was just a small quantity left in the bottle for several years but it has made me nervous about keeping such oil for too long.

Change the gearcase oils before you use them .......... SAE 90 outboard gear oil for both
