After market hydraulic bathing platforms

Has anyone fitted an aftermarket hydraulic bathing platform?

I am wondering how the companies who fit them calculate how much additional weight a transom/hull can take and how this affects the boats fuel consumption/balance?

I can't imagine that they worry about it in the slightest, beyond a bit in the small print about the fitter/owner needing to check that the boat is suitable etc. The responsibility lies with the fitter/purchaser to check that all will be well?
