hallo,

Aeromin plate was used on my boat from 1914 (as indicated on the original plan), I supose this is some kind of metal?
Does anyone know this Aeromin material? It was used as a plate on the horn frame near the rudder and as a washer covering the greased felt rudder seal.

Hello Werner, There was a rapid growth of technology at that time, and many new alloys were being tried out to serve the brand-new aeroplane building industry. I would guess that it may be an alloy of aluminium, but the other consituents are anyone's guess. A sad thing is that much of this technology is now being lost as fast as it was discovered. Designers don't know about them, so they don't specify them. Manufacturers stop making them because there is no call for them, and that's how it goes, leaving us all so much the poorer.
