Aerial "bar" on backstay splitter plate

I've seen a few pictures of boats with a short piece of bar mounted on the backstay splitter plate. I have a few more things to mount (AIS aerial and autohelm wind vane) and this seems like a very good place to put it.

Has anyone got any close up photos of how they have done this? Ideally I'd like to avoid welding, or drilling though the splitter plate itself.
