I'm currently in Kirykos, Ikaria and I want to get to Syros before the weekend. I had planned to anchor overnight in Karkinagri on the south west of Ikaria and then hit for Mykonos - impossible to get a straight answer from the marina in Mykonos regarding a berth for a night or 2 and I'm not familiar with the anchorages there. I'm now thinking I'd go to Tinos as a staging port. My boat is a 34ft motor catamaran and is bloody uncomfortable in a beam sea. I'm travelling solo and generally I prefer not to be out in more than 12/14 knots and travel in daylight hours only.
I'm consulting Windy and Poseidon and not seeing much of a break. What do the experts on here say?

There are two good anchorages (apart from the beach music!) on the SE side of Mykonos. We have twice used them before crossing to Ikaria.

Tinos can be very windy and the harbour suffers severe surge. We were stuck there for a week but outside it was not bad at all.

Thanks. This area ??

No, SE corner. The one you show is full of moorings and can be quite unfriendly. I know two people who were told to go elsewhere by mooring holders. The SE corner gives you the shortest crossing time if that is a problem.
Mea culpa - is it safe to let me out unsupervised if I don't know my east from my elbow? I'll have a look at each of these on Navily. Thanks again.

The second yellow from the right is one we have used a couple of times. Plenty of space and good holding. We have checked the far right yellow and the green in the circular bay but did not like them on the day.
