Advice wanted - Jackstay fixing points

I want to put jackstays on my yacht before venturing out into the ogin.

Perhaps a silly question but, as she is a steel deck would it be better to weld fixing points on or to go the normal route of a pad eye / shackle?

Or, if you have the right type of bow and stern cleats in the right place, just run lanyards around them and onto the jackstays.
