It is a watermaker. You will be forever bypassing obscure non useful sensors that it doesn't really need. 'Tis the nature of the beast...

Mine's quite dumb, actually. No sensors whatsoever. I turn it on and off by applying power to the pump. It's been made slightly smarter by adding in a small timer unit that applies power to the pump via a relay at specified times. That is it. The only sensor that applies is the one on my tongue to taste the water before I divert it into the tank!

Now, if only it actually worked...

Well, here we are on the 18th of March and still no sign of the watermaker. I'm getting pretty hacked off now, so it's time to name and shame.
The unit is a (was brand new) Baitek Pulsar 25 split purchased from Jim at Sailfish Marine.
As mentioned, the unit was DOA. It was sent back and returned half-working, but then stopped working altogether after about a month. It's been nearly 6 months since I informed Jim the unit was dead, again, and here I am with no watermaker. I guess it was at least collected back in January.
I chased up Jim week before last and he informed me it was on its way and would be with me early last week. Still waiting.

I've today sent him a very snotty email as I'm now thoroughly hacked off with the absolutely dire service. We're setting off in the next couple of weeks. If it's not with us, and working, by then, it may as well not bother turning up.

To anyone reading this, assign blame where you wish. We bought the unit in the UK, informing Jim the plan was to go travelling for a couple of years. The fact we're now in a different country obviously makes it difficult for him to deal with it direct, but then maybe he should've ensured it was working long before we left. Baitek seem to be rather lacklustre, also. The product isn't particularly reliable and they don't seem to be in any rush to rectify problems.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens in the next couple of weeks.
