Im looking for somewhere in Turkey to haul out Canopus over next winter and for a few weeks in the summer. I've been in touch with Yat Lift near Bodrum and they seem pretty good but I wondered if there were any similar sites further SE ie perhaps in the Marmaris/Gocek area.
I dont want to pay Turkish marina prices as we dont use the (very nice, but expensive) facilities, I simply want somewhere to safely store the boat when not in use.
Thanks
Steve

I heard of someone who had a cheap quote from the new marina in Gocek (the one at the western end, possibly called Marine Turk?) to haul out and store a biggish motorboat for 7 months. The quote was made in Lire rather than Euros, and was said to have been substantially less than Yatmarine had quoted. Whether they might be cheaper than Yatlift I don't know, because the latter are usually recommended on here for cheap storage.

You're spoilt for choice in SW Turkey. Check out http://jimbsail.info/mediterranean/turkey/carian - you'll see the layup options listed in "Summary" at the bottom of the page, with more details for each place in the text above. Links in the text lead to web sites where they're available, but not many yards have web sites!

You can reach the neighbouring areas from the right hand menu to see what goes on in Gocek or further east.

If anyone knows of more links, or places I haven't listed, please add a "comment" to the relevant page. Makes the site more useful for all of us! Errm, to see and add comments you have to subscribe to the site and become a "user" - that's how I keep spammers out.
