Hi All. I hope i might be able to find some sound advise for some of you nautical masters!

I now live in Costa Blanca, Spain. I'm looking for a good starter bowrider. (I spent my youth on 18-22ft inboard/outboards like Chris Crafts, Bayliners etc but it's been many years now!)

I don't have a huge budget. Anywhere from €10-18K and I'll probably use a drop-in service for now until the moorings clear out in September.

So far i've narrowed it down to ~3-4 ~5.5 inboard/outboard bowriders.

2001 Glastron SX 175 with a 3L Volvo Penta that's 'OK'. Interior is good. Engine needs the wiring to be tidied up (from inspection by me) But it's a dealer so I'll get a warranty at least (~12k)
2004 Bayliner 3.0L mercrusier (~16K) which i think is mad money
2006 Bayliner 3.0L mercrusier (~10k) needs an complete interior refurb but also from a dealer
The list goes on so I won't bore you all!
Lastly though is a SeaDoo Challenger 2000 with a 240HP Mercury power plant for about 12-13k. This looks very clean and has been very well maintained.

What I'm hoping is someone might advise me on the SeaDoo. It looks quite tempting in terms of style and speed but with an Outboard Mercury stuck onto a jet drive i'm wondering about reliability. I'm also wondering how they handle the Med coast compared to a Bayliner, Maxum, Glastron typical mid 2000's bowrider?

Your input is greatly appreciated!
Grif
