i plan on having a boating trip in tri-cities, wa area. and i'm having a dilemma of having it launched on Snake River (above the Ice harbor Dam), or on Columbia River and boating north. Does anyone have any experience and can recommend me which one to boat on if i like the following ?
-beautiful landscape (nature , not citiscape)
-hiking isolated areas (short hikes)
-enjoy an isolated beach
-swimming in clear warm water
Which one is more recommended for what I like? So far based on my research (i've never been to tri-cities), it seems like there is more specutacular landscape scenary on the columbia if I head north:
-white bluffs
-hanford reach site
-alot of hillsides/cliffs
-dunes?
however, I'm not sure if i actually see those, are those too far or perhaps there is an obstruction so that i cannot see them (eg. dam? not as far as I can see on google maps), or perhaps there are no docking beaches for me to walk out from the boat?
On the snake, I'm told there are more beaches, more isolated and waters are warmer for swimming.
