Next Summer inted to take boat to France, dump at Cherbourg and come home with crew. Return a week alter with SWIMBO and cruise French coast. Send SWIMBO home on ferry and continue with a new crew who are coming over on fastcat, then finally ail boat home.

Obviously, passsports and boat docs needed, but........................

am I going to fall foul of any other regulations?

No - unless you are running a commercial charter operation.

Work on the don't ask, don''t tell principle. Done it before and never had a problem - just keep the crew manifest looking proper and note the changes and dates.
Oh! and pay the marina - they get a bit sniffy about clearing off without paying, irrespective of who you have on board.
Get rid of the out of date flares, and the kipper tie too

Im not sure but I think I remember something about changing crews and the SSR .It went something like someone on SSR should be always onboard
If you change crew and nobody on board is on the SSR then thFREnch assume the boat is being charterd and some sort of licence or tax becomes due .
I am sure I will be shot down in flames , or it might be an old law that is no longer valid .

someone will come on and correct me I am sure!:)

A letter from the owner stating that the boat is lent out to Mr/Ms SoandSo with his signature covers that.

No need for the owner to be on board.

thanks for that I remember more clearly now , It was a small column in one of the mags somebody warning about it , as they got a big fine .I could not remember what they said about it though

Nothing to do with regulations but don't assume all ferry routes are suitable for foot passengers - worth a check before you fix your plans.
