Husband recently bought a Cobra 750 and I would like to get him some dodgers with the boat's name on for Christmas. However, I don't know what size to get and don't want to ask him otherwise it won't be a surprise.

If someone can advise me on what size I need I would very much appreciate it - thanks :-)

Unless you catch the attention of a Cobra 750 owner on here you might start by trying their Owners Association
and asking there. You will probably get more replies.Cobra and Seawolf Owners (webs.com)
Also you could try calling a few sailmakers and asking them if they have the dimensions.
Possibly search on boat sale sites and see if there is a Cobra 750 for sale near to you, then go measure it?
Good luck getting them made for Christmas.
Edit: as an afterthought, if you are not sure what size to order look at Google pictures and you will see where the dodgers fit.

Can you surprise him by suggesting to help him with a day of tinkering on the boat,.maybe with a pub lunch in the middle, and then surreptitiously measure? The top measurement is usually longer than the bottom and there are ebay people who can make them quickly.

Ridgy's idea might be best. People have different ideas about dodgers anyway and there is probably a range of different sizes for any given boat.

If you measure from the pulpit stanchion to the first stanchion on the deck and then down to the deck, you should have the measurements that are commonly used.; if the boat looks a bit like this:

I would knock a few inches off the height so that any wave coming onboard has somewhere to escape without causing damage. Plus knock an inch or two off the width to leave room for the thing to be laced on.
You can get around the problem of having them made up by doing them yourself, if you are handy with a sewing machine ( fabrics here: Waterproof & Breathable Fabric) or you could buy ready made up from places like this:

Boat dodgers - yacht dodgers- cockpit dodgers Sold in Pairs. | eBay

Then you could get the name attached later, when sailmakers might be less busy or have a go yourself.

You will probably find that having letters sewn on is far the biggest expense with dodgers. Our boat came with blank dodgers and I was quoted £8 each letter to add name. In the end I bought these ready cut vinyl letters from Kayospuce and my wife stuck then sewed them on.

Also, the dodgers have a reinforced top hem, through which the top guard line is threaded and then the lacing is only done at each end. I recommend this as although the guard line has to be disconnected, it is still easier than than lacing along the top - as we had on previous ones.

I really wouldn't get dodgers made without first actually measuring the stanchions and spacing. Not every Cobra 750 is identical: quite a few were home completed and may have different stanchion heights and positioning. Even factory finished boats sometimes have changes year to year.

some boats were built from kits and bare hulls, so each boat can have stanchions and pushpits in variable positions. I strongly advise you make up a package that suggests you will provide the dodgers after you measure up the boat. It doesn't need to be a surprise ending, stretch it out and enjoy the process. That way you'll have dodgers ytthat fit and no regrets.
