I am lookign for some advice on the purchase of our first boat, as a family (we are 3) have spent the last couple of years messing around in speed boats and are ready to upgrade. Having spent the last few months researching our options we are looking at used Targa 34's from 2005 onwards.

we would primarily be using the boat for weekends, and cruising round the South West UK.

Has anyone got any advice on the purchase of used Fairline Targa's and / or any other advice for newbies in this field.

Thank you in advance!!

Excellant choice, always has been the bench mark other manufactures try to match, good sea keeping ability, 38Knots with KAD300, very few isuess with the hull, there has been a few cases where the internal fixtures bonding have come away due to over zellous owners, but rare, and normally an easy repair.
The GRP should be in good condition and not fading on the rear quarters.
Engine wise should have full service history, tappets adjusted every 200hrs and outdrives bellowes change every 2 years.
Just get a full professional survey and oil samples carriedout.
Once you select the craft , let the forume know the name as they may advise some local history and engine type for more info.
Good luck with your search
