Hi forum users. I am new to the water and have just acquired a 10 year old Sealine S28. Can anyone please try to explain the best way to roll up the aft covers for stowing in the radar arch? I was not happy with my first attempt and fear for the life of the clear plastic!!

Hi we have an S34 also which has the stowage in the radar arch. Its not a very clever system to be honest, not matter how careful you are they always crease up to some degree.
We always unzip the two side parts and store them somewhere else and just store the middle in the arch.

Thanks Matt35. This is what I've been doing but I still feel as though I fight a loosing battle everytime! Grrr

And the times that the hinged under-cover has swung down and smacked me on the bloody head, when I try and open it don't bare thinking about!

If you get this version of the s28 you will have plenty of stowage up forward.

Seriously, I never store the canvas in the "lid". I lay it out on the pontoon, then flake it like a sail into a width that can then be rolled up and stored in the compartment behind the helm seat.

Success is something roughly the size of a cat.

dv.

unzip the side pannels,

roll them into a tube shape length ways,

and slide them behind the support straps or put in first so at the back,

fold the back cover material up so it starts the roll from the bottom of the clear plastic bit,
roll the back cover, up now and stow,

try it, keeps plastic as little creased as possible.
