Hi i was just wondering could you give me some advice please i have owned a few bow riders in my time and am now looking something a bit bigger which will handle the chop a bit better opposed to all the slamming that comes with a bow rider as the title goes i can spend up to 15k max i was just wondering could you please list me a couple of boats with my requirements which are a good handling boat has a toilet and will still give me the wind in my hair buzz similar to the bow riders. i have been looking at a sea ray 240 sun dancer and an regal 258 commodore maybe you could give me your thoughts on these 2 boats as well thank you.

I used to have this problem with a 21ft race boat. I bought a rinker (well, its a bayliner really) 235, 24ft and it is such a smoother ride, much more pleasant. you may find some nice diesels for that, which i would highly recommend!

Your best option is to get a decent rib - A rib handles choppy water much better and is more fun. It;s also less bouncy compared to cabin cruisers (same length). There are some good ones on ebay these days like these (not mine):

The two you mention should be fine for your purpose ive owned two different boats from both makers & they are better than the average us built boat & some British boats to
Any 4 berth cruiser around the 24- 27' size would suit you & give a better ride than the bowriders which tend to be shallower Vee hulls
you could look at 21'+ 2 berth cuddy cabin boats but the toilet facilities tend to be portable toilet type & the cabin tends to be used as storage rather than usefull seating space
Just make sure you get the boat thoroughly checked mechanically to avoid any nasty surprises
Spend some time looking at lots of boats before you make up your mind and ask opinion before you buy
Best of luck in your search

I know its not diesel but I have a Fairline Sprint 21. It is a brilliant boat, and very good when the going gets a little rougher than you'd like. She still hits 31 knots, with a clean hull. Highly recommended and you will get a very good example for a fair bit less than 15K.
