Feeling skint, and knowing I couldnt squeeze any out of budget spend at the Boat Show, I convinced Lynn that the Admiralty Wallpaper Shop was worth a look.
I managed to talk her into some nice prints from the Leisure Folio Range. As luck would have it, I steered her into the 5607 pattern, complete with roundabout motifs in purple off the Harwich VTS.
These would make lovely wallpaper in the spare bedroom.
Well, I knew we had some 5607 range from a previous visit, and so went to match them up on the pasting table. Can you imagine my horror when I found out that the pattern and shade were different? Admiralty? Part of NuLabur now, poor quality, cant get the cartographers these days, obviously.
Now I am in trouble, as Lynns plan to use the subtle random patterns to decorate the spare bedroom has gone down the tubes.
'You might as well use them for table mats on the bloody boat!! What a swiz, and such a nice bloke sold them to us. I suppose he is gone now, bloody market traders.' she said.
So, she threw the lot out, but I sneaked into the bin later and hoicked them out. Took them in the shed and wiped the spud peelings off, they should be OK.
Anyway, as the new 5607 6th edition cost me 42 quid, I have decided to laminate these and keep them as table mats on the chart table. Be able to wipe clean the curry off them OK, I think.
So that leaves me with the third edition September 2002, only 4000 miles on the clock, some damp dried out bits on a couple of them, but not much in the way of globally warmed pencil lead marking. Offering these to highest bidder, but dont get carried away. I am prepared to lend the lucky winner my new 6th edition to make the major changes.
Note, these are not printed on like for like areas, so a bit of shuffling required.
