Admirality 'Tough' Charts

I wanted to buy a solent edition of these jobbies for a present only to discover they were withdrawn last year in Nov!


Anyone know why as chandlers say they were popular and HMSO collected unsold folio's and gave suppliers credit.


Where can I get one now - the usual E Bay/ amazon sites draw a blank ; even they still show them as available right until you get to the ordering detail??

I think they were fab for the F/B

mjf, I might be mistaken - I often am - but I think I saw a couple of copies of the spiral bound sets in one of the chandlers in Bursledon a couple of weeks ago. If so it was either the one on the south side of the bridge immediately facing the pub next to Fairline/Mendez Marine (F4?) or the one in the yard next to RK Marine (Yachtmail?).

PS Don't bother claiming your petrol back from me if I happen to be wrong.

Thanks - funnily enough I was in the one the other side of the bridge last week (Force 4??) where I found that they were not available - will try Force 4 (opp the pub) and Yachtmail as you suggest.

Lansdale in Chi marina had a fair pile in stock last week ( I was almost tempted to get the one for west of Portland for my collection). Failing that, I recently got the _Solent Harbours_ one, knowing it was out of print, from Stanfords in Long Acre, London.

I like them 'cos they are better than a Solent race chart for the kids to draw on in chinagraph ;-)
